iRest®


Integrative Restoration (iRest®) is an adaptation of Yoga Nidra, a form of profound meditation taken from the ancient eastern teachings of yoga. The teachings of Yoga Nidra were adapted by my teacher, Richard Miller, PhD, to make the practice more accessable to the western world. He calls this adaptation Integrative Restoration-iRest®. I also call it “meditation for the active mind”.

In iRest® the body and mind become deeply relaxed and the conscious mind is in a state between waking and sleeping. When we put the conscious mind to rest, we can then access and work with the subconscious and unconscious mind (that which holds our conditioning and wounds), whereby deep healing of the mind and body can occur- restoring us back to our natural disposition of health, vitality, and wholeness.

Integrative Restoration-iRest®; is a 10-step guided therapeutic meditation practice that can be practiced in any comfortable position- sitting, lying down or even standing. The practice combines: positive affirmations, visualization, body awareness, breathe awareness, and neutralizing negative sensations, emotions, and thoughts. You can easily integrate the steps of iRest into your daily life once they are learned and practiced. This practice will empower you in your self-healing process!

Self-Healing occurs during iRest. The self-knowledge acquired through the education/teachings/practice helps facilitate integration of the mind, body, and spirit, revealing to us our inherent ground of health and wholeness-no matter what disease, illness, or trauma we may be dealing with.

Viniyoga™


Viniyoga™ is a therapeutic, gentle approach to physical yoga postures that is adapted to the unique condition, needs, and interests of each individual. Coordinating mindful movement with the breath is the core principle of this practice.

Therapeutic yoga postures can be beneficial for the following health conditions: anxiety, arthritis, asthma, back pain, cancer, chronic pain, fibromyalgia, headaches, high blood pressure, insomnia, irritable bowel syndrome, migraines, multiple sclerosis, menopause, PMS, neck pain, and many more.

Individual sessions are 60-90 minutes. A one-on-one assessment will be completed your first session and then a practice will be created taking into account each individual’s emotional, physiological, and physical condition and life needs. Your practice will include physical postures and may also include mantra, meditation, relaxtion, and prayer. Length of your practice as well as time of day to best practice for your condition will also be discussed/recommended. You will then be taught your individualized practice posture by posture and given a written and audio format to follow so that you can use the practice daily in the comfort of your own home/space.

An average of 4 sessions is typically needed to learn your practice. Please dress in comfortable clothing that is easy for you to move in for your Viniyoga™ sessions.
